It’s time to play

It’s been a long year. And I don’t just mean 2020’s monthly Hunger Games challenges (though they are enough in and of themselves). My family’s “long year” started in the end of September last year when my health took a nose dive. Turned out that during my two week hospital stay we discovered we had been living with toxic mold in our house. We had to trash 90% of our belongings and move. All 6 of us, plus the dog, squeezed into our friends house and lived on top of their family while I recovered enough that we could start to think about what came next. The housing market was crazy. We put offers on 7 houses and FINALLY closed the deal on our new place the SAME DAY as the quarantine at home orders came down here in Oregon. We hunkered down. Like WAY down. Being so freshly out of the hospital I don’t really want to return, and we have a daughter with special needs who is highly susceptible so we don’t take the precautions lightly. With all that has happened, my camera got kinda lonely.

But here we are. It’s July. We don’t know what the future holds, but my health is stable and we are all getting used to living in the same world with Covid-19. As my energy returns I am itching to get out there with my camera and SEE it all again. The love. The joy. The wonder. The next, and the new even.

I got to spend an hour at the park with this little Miss over the weekend. It brought me life. So I’m sharing it with you!
